As communications professionals, we know the power of words. However, our commitment must extend beyond just words. We have taken – and continue to take – proactive actions to foster a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment at Buchanan Public Relations.
It is important to us to attract, retain and develop a diverse workforce. We actively recruit diverse candidates and strive to build a team that is diverse and representative.
We are a certified woman-owned business. Our account teams comprise those with differing ethnic and racial backgrounds and sexual orientations. We rely on the unique backgrounds of each of our team members to guide us in creating the most effective and impactful work possible for our clients. When needed, we partner with a global network of public relations practitioners and agencies to ensure that our campaigns and plans benefit from the input of others around the world.
Every staff member has completed ESSEC Business School’s “Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace” course. New employees are required to complete the course and are included in our conversations about our approach as we move forward.
Our commitment extends to our clients, too. We have committed to working with clients (for-profit and non-profit) who demonstrate through word and deed their commitment to working toward equity and equality for all.
The path toward racial justice is a long-term commitment. We are committed to doing our part and encouraging others to, as well.
