PHILADELPHIA (October 30, 2018) – Buchanan Public Relations LLC, a full-service public relations, digital and crisis communications agency, today announced the agency has been honored with two awards at the annual International Best Practices Awards ceremony at the Fall 2018 meeting of the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN) in Bucharest, Romania.
The awards recognize exceptional and innovative campaigns and tactics by some of the industry’s leading public relations firms. First, second and third place award recipients are voted on by members of PRGN, a connected network of 50 independently owned public relations firms servicing key markets around the world.
Buchanan Public Relations was awarded first place in the Consumer Communications category and second place in the Product Launch category. The firm was recognized for its work on behalf of client Unequal Technologies, a technology company that develops protective sports equipment. It recently applied its military-grade protection to develop a bulletproof, folder-sized backpack insert for students called SafeShield™.
To launch SafeShield™, Unequal CEO Rob Vito hosted a press conference, where he gifted a shield to each member of the graduating eighth-grade class of a local school. Buchanan Public Relations – with only one day to prepare – excelled in its promotion efforts surrounding Unequal’s SafeShield™ launch. The campaign far exceeded initial expectations by garnering coverage in 380 print and online stories and 78 broadcast outlets. As a result of the national coverage generated from the campaign, Unequal Technologies has partnered with school districts across the nation that became interested in providing the SafeShield™ for students.
